ELIJAH...A HERO AMONG US AND A TRUE MIRACLE!
When Elijah was 19 months old he was diagnosed, during the first week of October of 2008, with Medulloblastoma. Medullo, is a very fast growing form of brain cancer that is of the family of cranial primitive neuroectodermal tumors (PNET).
After 6 1/2 months in and out of the hospital including 15 surgeries (2 of which were brain surgeries), multiple rounds of chemotherapy and 2 Autologous bone marrow transplants, we are happy to report that Elijah is in remission Praise God. Now, 2 years later, Elijah's fight continues on with a weekly regimen of Speech, Physical and Occupational therapies in the hopes of a full recovery from postoperative cerebellar mutism. Elijah also goes to clinic every 3 months and MRIs every 6 months to keep a close eye on the horrifying potential for relapse.
